Anybody know the stock block record??
Just kinda wondering what the fastest Stock block LS1 record is? As in the
Ls1 block that came in the car. Im pretty sure the stock block Lt1 record is 8.08 by Big Rick and just want to see how far we are behind. I know you guys go way faster with iron and aftermarket blocks, just wondering about stock blocks Alum LS1 vs LT1 block.

The Ohio Boys have been pretty quick with factory blocks. I think Mike Brown being the quickest.. Hes been in the 7.20s @ 200ish with an ERL prepped LS2 block. 3400LBS+ on radials.
I know of at least one guy who has been into the sevens with a factory LS2 crank, block, and sleeves.

i dont see the factory ls1 aluminum block being quiet as strong as the lt1 iron block... but the W2W guys went like 6.5s years ago on a stock 6.0 truck block in mike moran's old white camaro "casper"

The iron truck block LS1s can fly no doubt, and same with aftermarket blocks of course, but all out LS1 factory F-body block to LT1/LT4 f-body block I cant find a faster LS1. Doesnt matter what adder or top end is on it or hell it doesnt even have to be in a F-body. I just kinda thought at least one LS1 would have gone faster. Fastest M6 F-body seems to be a Lt1 and same with the fastest stock short block. Interesting......

You dont see many guys running LS1 blocks in all out race applications, because it doesnt cost much money to switch to another block with higher potential.

If it didnt come in the car it doesnt count IMO. We all know LS series engines can fly, but since the LT1 does not have a aftermarket block or another bigger better truck block to swap in Id like to keep this a stock Alum LS1 block convo.
Im sure someone had to have tested the potential of the Alum LS1. Like guys that bought a Ls1 f-body brand new and just kept goin and going until it either blew up or decided they just needed more cubes.

harlan went 8.3 with a stock LS6 block
Mike brown went 7.20s with a resleeved and reinforced LS2 block (not a stock block by any stretch)
I went 7.99 with a stock LS2 block (OEM liners, OEM main caps)

Wow That is something I never Knew. I knew there were dealers that would do swaps like some Berger cars etc. I have never in my life seen a factory LS6 4th gen F-bod. For sure they switched to the LS6 mani on 01- 02( i was pissed I had a 00) but never heard of a Factory LS6 b4. Any links to this info?

thats pretty old info...they switched to the LS6 to improve some internal characteristics...
Like I said though....most big dogs don't play with a LS1/6 block anymore...LS2 at a bare minimum which is a factory corvette/GTO block
