New engine build! step inside for ?s 388 lt1
I have a 388 lt1 forged bottom end and using a flat top forged piston built for nitrous. Im also using AFR 210 heads that were also max ported. Lt4 intake and LT headers, bullet, dump. Backed by a th400 trans and a 4.10 gear on 28s.
I will be using a 250 shot minimum and would like to know what the hardcore guys recommend for this setup!
What converter should be used?
What cam specs if any? I would like to be HR still
What size throttle body?
anyone with a similar setup to this?
This will be on a stock pcm and im looking to take it all the way to 7000 rpm. SO I need my parts to match, thanks guys

have you posted this in the LT1 section? may get more responses in there.
you could even try camaroz28.com i got alot of LT1 info from there.
your torque converter is going to depend on the cam and where your powerband is at.
as for throttle body, i say the bigger the better but most likely your restiction will be the intake.

As far as cams and stuff you need to contact Elliott portworks and he'll take care of ya...I would also recommend a converted single plane with your setup...stock intake will be your downfall, but is budget friendly.
Like others have said coverter will be dependant on hp/tq curves. I run aYank SS 3800 in my car.

BUT all that aside to answer the question as in if I was doing this would be....
Converter- Set up with Nitrous in mind. Pick a good company like Circle D, Yank, or even Protorque. RPM would be based on their recommondation but I think it would certainly be tightend up a little bit.
Cam- As much as the motor allows for, probably more exhaust duration then normal, again would be a question for a cam company or a Guru like Lloyd E.
TB- You can stay stock sized or even go Mono Blade. The intakes though starve the front 2 cyl anyways so your looking beyond a plate kit. You really need a Direct Port for 250 shot. Dont even mess around.
