My stock 10 bolt has held up for two years with 4.56 gears and lots of passes. Could be a fluke that it has not broken. I like my 4.56 gear for the track as I primarily race 1/8th mile.

Yeah, but from your signature your not making very much power yet. What kind of 60ft do you have?
On a side note, put a cam in that thing! You have the intake/exhaust. A simple cam swap and tune and you'll pick up at ton!! OH and buy a new rear end!

I just ordered 243 heads and have a 238 duration cam. I am rebuilding the 4l60 right now and had to put all my stock stuff back on for smog inspection. When I go back with all my go fast parts I am putting on the heads and cam. I usually run a 1.5-1.6 60 ft.
