i have to say the QTPs are also a lot more stable on the top end compared to et streets.

QTP tire is probably a middle ground between a ET street and a S ET drag, in the sidewall rigidity department. I've run all 3 at one point. I wouldn't bother putting an ET street bias ply on a car again to be honest, the QTP from my exp worked a good bit better, and the ET drag worked better then the QTP did.

At least for me. Every car/track is different... any of them can work if you want to spend the time working it out.

From what I understand, you need to run a tube in an ET Street or QTP to make the tire work in a heavier car. 2600 fox body with a C4 maybe not. At that point I'd be running a radial on the street, and stiffwall slick at the track.

DON'T run a tube with a 6 speed car. the tire could spin and cause the tube to fail and loose all of its air. I run hooiser 28x10.5x15 in a stiff side wall with no tube. This tire spins on my rim. The trick with 6 speeds is you want to spin off the line just a little bit. if you don't then you'll blow the tires off or bog. remember spinning is wining.

You need to clear the wax out of your ears. You missed the n't in that saying. Spinning won't help you get your best times. If you bog off the line you idealy need gears or more power. You want to dead hook because you can't count on the same amount of traction to allow you the same "slight spin" every time. A small amount of spin often leads to a lot of spinning and best case senario could be a half *** way solve a launching problem.

Really?? 4:10's here and spraying a 200 out of the hole (680rwhp) spin out of the hole and ran a faster time then when I bog. I also had a .10 fast 60' on my spin. Do a search and you'll see six speed guys need to spin a little bit NOT blow off the tires. This is why manual cars are hard to drag race and this is why I choose to drive one. Makes it more of a challenge for me.

Stick car needs about 3 revolutions of spin, at least 2 as the car is getting going to prevent the mtoor from bogging. You can not, dead hook a stick car and have it not bog unless you have a slipper clutch to absorb some of the hit.

^ This. I've got mine set up to spin just enough to get under way. Of course with the T56 it still bogs, but it's noticeably quicker when it spins over when it dead hooks and falls on it's face.
