Default lt1 rods, pistons ?

I have a set of pistons that say SRP 40f on them, so I guess that means they are srp and forged. BUt the 40 im unaware of being that it was in a 383 so it would say 30, not 40

either way this is under the piston and there are NO other markings on the piston at all! Any way to distinguish this piston. ALso I measured the piston and the circumference was just shy of 4.000" and was NOT close to 4.030 at all, so what does that mean?

Should it be that way and the rings make up the difference?

Next is the rods are suppose to be eagle h beam rods that are 6". They have NO markings at all on the rods.

How can I tell what brand they are?

what they are made of, cheap **** or forged?

any help is great, thanks

I'm assuming u meant the piston diameter was just shy of 4.00". That's should be the case in an stock lt1 block as the bore spacing is 4.000

If you read what he stated. He says the piston was just under 4" bore but the rotating assembly came out of a 383. Kinda weird, but he was either lied to or it was a bad measurement.

bad measurement, or as most do just said "its a 383" when it's actually a 377 being a 4.00 bore and 3.75 stroke

You need to measure the diameter 90deg from the piston pin. The diameter at the top is much smaller than the bore size.
