Default Roll Cage Question

Hey im building a cage in a friends c-10 ive built a bunch of off road cages and a few rally car cages, but never one for drag racing my question is does the main hoop need to be one continus bend? i like to extend the a pilliar bars out the cab into the bed because the cage stays tighter and looks much cleaner is this legal for NHRA most desert trucks are done this way and those obviosuly take more beating than a drag car i just wanted to make sure its ok in NHRA's eyes.

this is what im talking about

would an extra gusset from the vertical bar to the bar over the rear window make the tec guys happy? its all gonna be heli-arc'ed pretty like so

thanks in advance - Dave

I'm not expert but your just looking for 8;50 cert? NHRA looks for bar placements around the driver for safety, and not much for how the tubes meet. The faster stuff need to be on spec for the gusset tubes and about on contact points in that spec.

Your work looks really clean! I dont think Ive seen a truck tucked that much so you can go over the rear winndow, great work dave

The main hoop behind the driver needs to be one continuous piece of tubing. ***Edited***

As already said here multiple times, the main hoop has to be one-piece continuous. If you are going to be building a cert cage (8.50-9.99 ET), then you really should get the NHRA rulebook. you can buy it separately, or you get it for free when you become an NHRA member.

Nice looking welds
