Default first time with a trans brake ?

i am going to have my 4l80e trans swap and s60 rear done very soon. my question is when i go to track, im going to be on street tires til i can get my DR's. i have a 3200 stall should i even bother using the brake at all until i get the DR's. what would you try first? also with my mods, car is 3600lbs with me in it.
what kinda times should i expect. high 12's if i can get a descent 60'?
thanks

Dude I have a 3500 stall with 26x11.50 slicks 3/4 throttle and on my transbrake I boil my tires. As long as your over 400whp with a brake you need massive traction. Hopefully with 28's ill be able to use it more. Also this is with a 3.20 gear and a th350 so first gear I taller then what your have.

I could leave at about 4k on my transbrake with 28x15in hoosier Drag radials, higher and it would roast them, strange SA front coil overs will be on tomorrow . But honestly i dont forsee a that 17in holding with that stiff sidewall. but only one way to find out

You're gonna need a real tire if you wanna use the brake. Time for some 15" wheels.

A trans brake is going to hit like a stick car would. It will be to a lesser degree due to the stall but even on a DR and 17" one no less, I expect you to be blowing off the tires and when you do, they do not recover.

Go ahead and do a test hit with the DR but I suspect you will be foot braking it for the rest of the day.

the car is not my DD only limited street use. except when i drive the the track, and that's mainly highway driving bout 90-100 miles to track and back. i do plan on getting 15 in. rims when i have cash. i still need to do my header swap and poly mounts. mickey thompson's are what im going to get, what size? i don't want a 28 in. yet, because ill have to mod to make it fit. think 26 in. tire would do for now.

28s fit with little modding but your power levels will be fine with 26
