oil air separator? for PCV my buddy is giving me one of these for free its like 75 bucks or something...its a little clear thing that goes between your valvecovers and intake manifold...will it work ? im going to a vacuum pump and really dont wanna buy an expensive catch can if this is just as good thanks
Nothing really works 100% to stop the oil from getting into the intake, other then not hooking the crankcase and the intake together.

I like to delete the breather side from the throttle body, install a nice little stainless steel mesh filter from O'Rileys onto the pass. side front valve cover vent, also install a filter on the drivers side where the old PCV valve was, and hook a vacuum hose from the manifold on the rear pass. valve cover vent...I use that with a small restrictor inline to keep "AS MUCH" oil from going down my intake. If no breather is hooked up you will get a slight oil smell or steam/smoke from those vents.
The factory setup is a problem because it is all tied into the intake, so at WOT all vapors get sucked into the manifold vs having a few vent to atmosphere.
I have done this on both mine and Ericas z28's, also the LS1 ram..
