Default Hoosier QTP Size question

Im looking into picking up some good tires before my rear comes in. It seems like from what I have read in the seach qtp's are gonna hook for a heavy 6 speed car.

My question is about the size of the tire. I have on the wheels right now 275/60/15 nittos on a 8" summit drag star rim. Are these http://www.jegs.com/i/Hoosier/522/17601QTP/10002/-1 in similar size to the current tires I have on the car? My guess is that they are going to be more like a 305 tire but I am just not sure. I am not used to buying tires when the size is listed like this.

The sizing is a bit different on those tires versus a full slick. The 11.50 is in reference to the section width, not the tread like on a slick. FWIW I have a set of 28x12.50x15 ET Streets and the tread on those is right at 10". The tread on the tire in that link should probably be pretty close to the 275, and if not no bigger than a 295.

That should be a 275-295 sized tire. Do they measure section width or tread width with the go-no-go gauge?
