Default Building track car....what class/chassis?

If you were building a track car, what model car would you choose and what class would you build it to run in? I can't decide what kind of car we should build, but it needs to be a class that a normal person can afford to compete in.

A F-body and I would run it in the footbrake bracket class.

This is what I do now on a teacher/coach salary.

For the LS1TECH Series, the Factory Stock or Extreme Stock are going to be the low-budget classes for at least a couple years. Until we get some HUGE sponsors like GM and such, with payouts exceeding $10K per event, its hard to attract the huge technology and high dollar setups.

Cheap? Find a 3rd gen or 4th gen V6 f-body, gut it, do the suspension right the first time, do the tranny right the first time, and do the engine right the first time.

just make sure its a hard top and RWD If I were you I would check out what events come around you area and check out what classes they have. I would try to find something similar to a class that the LS1Tech series is running and then build the car....but that's just me

Like here we have a series called Clash of the Titans. The have some index classes, so 11.0 index would work well with my H/C setup, especially since these events are usually held in the dead heat of summer and the car will probably be putting down numbers right around there, and it also works for me to run Factory Stock in the LS1Tech race.

Or as Coach said you could always build a bracket race car, every event has a bracket race and some bracket events are big $$$.

Build your bracket car to fit in the factor stock class. That is what I have.
