Default Anybody not running a alt.

Any body not running a alt on their LS1 drag only car? Thinking about getting rid of the alt and just charging the battery between rounds.

We are. 12V system will not do too well. We saw voltage drop under 12V by the end of the round. This was with towing the car most of the way to the line.

We swapped to a 16V system and have no issues.

We are running a fuel pump, BS3, MSD 7AL box, AMS1000, IC pump, and driving injectors.

A 16 volt system is certainly the way to go.

Just leave the alternator on there, it's less hassle. Hell I even have one on the dragster and there's NO WAY I'd run without one now.

Not really worth the headache, unless you are going to swap to a 16 volt system.

If you are going 16 volt, it will be fine.
