Race wiring help?
Jus bought a engine harness for my build question is what about vats? Is that in the PCM or the bcm. What do i need to do to get the csr to crank. I seen on painless and other wiring sites there is a module for vats bypass. Tried the search didn't find anything. Jus trying to figure out all what I need this is the first time I've been this far into removing all the wiring.

What year is the harness and PCM? What car are you putting it in?
I believe the VATS bypass modules will only work with 1998 and older PCMs.
If this is a 4th gen with a BCM:
The BCM reads the pellet in the ignition key. If the BCM does not receive the correct signal the car will not crank. You can get around this by grounding the starter relay directly instead of allowing the BCM to do it.
The PCM needs to receive the signal from the BCM to turn on the fuel pump and pulse the injectors. If you bypass the BCM you will need to have the VATS turned of in the PCM. You can purchase tuning software and do this yourself or find a tuner that can do it for you.
