Default Quick release steering wheels

What are you guy's running? How do you like it?

Looking for a good kit for the stock column. Car has a manual rack, so no tiny wheels.

I bought mine from Burkhart Chassis. They have the full kit with the options.

He should be able to match you up with a different steering wheel if you don't like the standard one.

I put a column in when I did the quick release wheel, but the burkhart, or madman kit would be the way to go with a stock column.

Wheel wise I picked out a black grant wheel that was only like 1/2 an inch smaller then the stock wheel. It's big enough so it's not really a struggle to turn the wheels with 1 hand when the car's not even moving, with the car moving at all it would be easy enough.

The prostock wheel with the yellow marker in the center is a nice wheel as well, no need for the tape on it, etc.

I'm using the one from Madman with a 15" Grant,
And a power rack, without the power steering pump. That wheel is the same diameter as factory. It takes an arm to manuver around the pits. I like the quick release. But the setup I got moves the wheel away from you about 3".

Roger you can get a spacer that will pull the wheel back towards you if you want that.

I had the column built 2 inches longer when I took this route for that same reason, later I found some spacers that you can use (ART catalog) that will let you pull the wheel closer.. had I known about those I would have had the column shortened 3 inches from stock and put a 5 inch spacer on that would remove with the wheel... it would make for alot less column in the way when getting in and out of the car fwiw.

Does the kit include the hub and wheel? Is that all that is needed for the stock column?

I used a Grant quick release with this wheel for a while with the stock column. Seemed to work well but now I have a different column with a Strange quick release.
