Default What else do I need?

01 Z A4 (super rare mystic teal. lol)
First time to the track was with a slp lid , 180 stat, predator tune, hooker muffler and bassini off road y-pipe. I was able to do 13.02 and a 12.99 poor 60 foots

Second time was at a 1/8 mile.
same mods just a air delete and slp ram air box. I ran 8.30s spinning outta hole. Weak trans

This year.. new trans (well a low mileage one with transgo shift kit) FTI 3600, strange s60 with 3:73s and lca relocation, spohn tunnel mounted torque arm, drag radials mounted on stock 16" wheels and Frost tune.

Just ordered the rear end. My car is sitting with a busted ten bolt. Should I do headers while I am waiting? I can get some pacesetters off a guy. Should I port the throttle body any? I don't mind sending my pcm back to frost for a refresh.

I thought about doing underdrive pulley but don't know if it's worth it. I have some subframe connectors that I need to install.

Am I being too optimistic to hope for 12.40s? I've added a good amount of weight so I was thinking of removing rear seats and stuff to compensate. The car has higher miles since the first outting so I am not sure if the motor is getting tired. It still runs good.

- Headers will help improve power, if it does not cost you much and you have nothing but time, why not?

- U/D pulley is generally something you do with a cam install, its considered "free Labor" as you need to remove it doing the job. IF you have the proper tools you can do it. Just need some good leverage and a large breaker bar.

- You never know until you get out there. The car being a auto will run pretty close to the best ET generally the first time out, unless you have zero traction or something odd.

Take as much weight out, clutter and put the front tire hard, and have a set of at least drag radials to help.

Thanks for the advice. Can't wait to see what it does. I am hopefully going to at least get the headers in soon.

I got the rear in and ran a 7.98 with a 1.76 60 foot with drag radials. I found last years time slips and I was wrong about the previous times. I was running 8.43 to 8.50s last year. I gained over 4 tenths just from the stall and gears. I am happy. There is more in the car. I am picking up some used long tubes Friday and am possibly putting a cutout in the i pipe. I also intend to remove the rear seats and install a ss hood I just bought for weight shavings. Also the ac isn't working so the compressor can be removed for now. 7.70s here I come.
