Default Front Runner Question

I am needing a set of tires for my 15x4 streetlites. I am considering M&H 185/75/15 Racemaster radial they are rated for 1325lbs a piece, so 2650lbs a set. Is that enough for a full weight 01 Trans Am. I have no idea how much weight is really on the front tires. I just got M/T 295/55/15 drag radials for the rear and want a radial front to match. I just need to make sure that I don't exceed the rating on the M&H front tires. Thanks for any input

Scale the car, you would know the front weight. I am no expert but I would start there.

You will be fine. At 4000 pounds with 60% on the nose you're only at 2400 pounds. You should be well below 4000 pounds and you should be well below 60% on the nose.

Thanks for the input, I am thinking the car is between 3500-3650 at most. I just found some scales about 20 miles away, so maybe some day I will weigh the car. But I am most likely going to go ahead and order the tires, the load rating is as good if not better than most I have seen.

I found this on another older post

Front Percentage: 56.4% (1973 lbs)
Rear Percentage: 43.6% (1522 lbs)
Left Percentage: 50.1% (1750 lbs)
Right Percentage: 49.9% (1745 lbs)

Corner Weights:

LF: 1008 Lbs RF: 966 lbs

LR: 742 Lbs RR: 779 Lbs

All readings were taken using a set of intercomp computer scales.
Just figured I'd post it to give some people the general weight dist of stock f bodys.
If all of that is true I should be good with those M&H radials

I have read that the truck scales (Cat Scale) are within 20# or so of being accurate. With that said, my 2002 SS with a 402 LS2, M6, S60, leather, no TC and no t-tops came in at ...

... 1,940# front, 1,520# rear with 9.5/11 ZR1's w/275/315 Nitto 555's

and

... 1,900# front, 1,480# rear with 4/10 RT-S's w/26x7.50 M/T Sportsman 8-ply's/27x11.5 Hoosier QTP's

You should be fine with the M&H's!
