Default Dumb question?

Before I got my line lock I always dropped the clutch in 2nd gave it half throttle for a second and went on about my business. Well now that I've got a line lock should I just use 1st? I've only played with the line lock once on the street and I could barely tell I was spinning. I felt like my tires weren't turning quick enough to get any heat to them. What do you guys think? 1st or 2nd. I'll be running some ET streets. Thanks

2nd to get some good heat. But on a et street you can get too hot if you hold it too long.

I always use 3rd, and yeah you don't need much of a burnout.

IF you can roll out from the burnout and feel the tires catch, then you did your job. If you don't make note do something different next time.

You can use 1st, it will be a little easier on the clutch when the tires do grab, but you will have to sit there for a while longer to get them good and hot.

the rolling 2nd gear burnout, if you can do that works good as well as long as you feel the car catch once you get out of the box you're good.

Key is not to do the burnout, and stop doing it, then pull forward, you need to spin the tires as close to where you're going to line up as you can, to make sure that they're not only hot, but clean when you get to the starting line. Do a big smokey burnout and then stop, and roll thru all the loose rubber bits, 1/2 of the tire isn't going to make contact the first revolution becuase of all the flack that it will pick up.
