Default Pin On Hood

I am converting my 01 formula to a pin on hood. In the process I am removing headlights, and motors, just leaving the covers. For weight. While looking at this, it occurs to me that if someone made a hood with the headlight covers built in to it, well that would be the cats britches. I did a google search with no luck.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

X2. All I could find was the 1pc front end by vfn. A bumper with head light covers built in would rock.

I converted my Glasstek hood to eliminate the headlight buckets.
It's an LT1 front end but you get the idea.

FWIW....KOS (Shawn Zubler 1-215-651-7677) sells Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass headlight lids for the LS1 cars. You can fasten them to the car a variety of ways.

That looks good. I was hoping there was something out there, off the shelf. Sure seems like there would be a market for it in the racing world. So I will probably attach them permanently to the car.

I had a guy looking into making a mold so that he could make some new covers from ABS plastic. Theyd have tabs so you could just bolt them in with sheetmetal screws and would weigh practically nothing. Sadly I dont think the thought ever left PMs.

If you bought a bumper cover and headlight lids from KOS, you can glue the lids to the bumper. Just call Shawn and ask him how to go about it.

Thanks everyone. I bought a vfn hood, and the shop that's putting it on will fab up some mounts for the gutted headlight covers.
