Red face Heading Back to the Track on Friday

So I'm heading to a local track on Friday. Weather is supposed to be 65* at 5pm, down to 48* by 11pm. Should be perfect temps for the motor. The only time I've run this car at the track before was on 1/32 Sumitomo's which spun in 1st thru 3rd. I had 3/4 of a tank of gas, large dual 8" sub box/amp, and approx. 100 lb tool box in the rear. This was my best run last time:

6/10/11 7:48 PM
60': 2.155
330': 5.862
1/8: 8.857 @ 82.360
1000': 11.410
1/4: 13.562 @105.090

Pressure: 29.950
Temp: 84.2*
Humidity: 66%
DA: 1962.260

Again, ran that on 275/45R16 Sumitomo's with no tread. Mods since then are a QTP Electric cutout, 315/35R17" Nitto NT555 Extreme's, etc. I'll be removing the sub box, amp & tool box, running with less gas, and hoping for a 12.999 or better with the predicted temps and "new setup". I'll have GoPro video's as well.

I think I'm going to start at 30 psi for the rears (Working down from there), and try some 2000-3000 RPM launches. I'm worried about grip, and blowing up the 10 bolt...

For street tires I usually lower my rears to ~25 psi then sometimes end up taking another 2 psi out or so.

30 psi is pretty close to street pressure.

Yah I run 35 on the street. Tread patch contact is nearly perfect across the tire. I'll try 25 and go from there. Thanks! It should be around 58-60* by the time I get in my first run.

I know that track very well I'll be there shaking down the new setup next Wednesday.

2 tips - stage as shallow as possible. Just flicker the bottom bulb on. Secondly, keep your right foot to the floor when you shift

The shallow staging I've not tried to do on purpose, but from memory I think I do it every time. Pre-stage lights up, then I go as slow as possible 'til the Stage lights up.

I've been messing with power shifting since those videos and I have it down now.

I really can't wait to get down there and test the new surface!

Im more curious to see how MPH you'll pick up just opening the cutout. In for this. Also power shifting should help work your E/T.

I'm thinking overall the runs should be superior. Even right now at 3:08pm everything is far better.

On June 10th, 2011 when I did those runs above...

Temp: 84*
Pressure: 29.95 inches
Humidity: 66%
Dewpoint: 71*

Currently it's...
Temp: 59*
Pressure: 30.21 inches
Humidity: 41%
Dewpoint: 37*
