Rear Speedglass- Myth or Not?
I've heard some of the guys around my area claim that installing speedglass in the rear of the car will throw the balance of the car all off and you can't get the car to work again without adding balasts. They also say its structural and "will cause the car to flex to much"
Myth or not?
I think they are retarded.... but I may be the 1 who is wrong.
sorry if this issue has been brought up before but I have looked far and wide and havent found anything on it

If stock glass is what people are relying on to structure their racecars then I'd be afraid to line up next to them.
Keeping the front end down is the issue once the power does up and u start getting it to the ground efficiently. Weight ballasts?? I dont think so, not in these cars.

yeah these folks are claiming that the cars just will no longer work once you install speed glass in the rear.
I call BS I was just wanting to see opinions of people that ARE going fast

I have the factory glass (by rule) and it in no way aids in the rigidity of my chassis. The weight is in a good spot, but I don't see how removing the weight in that area would hurt the car all that much.
I will say that I replaced my windshield with a Chinese glass replacement. It saved me 4.5 lbs in a very good area. Now the funny thing is that 30 minutes after I make a run, I want to make another run.

just thought I would throw in here, speedglass is no longer sold thru Percy's due to some contractual mis-steps by them. The manufacturer is Optic Armor Performance Windows and the windows are now marketed as Optic Armor. Percy's was simply a distributor. Just wanted to clear that up since Ive been seeing a lot of posts where folks have been trying to contact Percy's with no luck. These are the guys that actually produce and sell it. www.opticarmorwindows.com
