Default Race Mufflers

I need some race mufflers.
Race only car. I don't like open headers, too loud for me.
I know it adds weight but.
Headers have 3.5" collectors. I had the Dynomax Bullets before and didn't like them. I had a Borla XR-1 on a ORY and like that sound. But I don't want to spend $350.00 on the XR-1's.
I'll have about 8" of straight pipe off the collectors and then the mufflers and turndowns.
Thanks

I like my flowmaster bullets. Kooks headers, 3.5 collector, NAPA stainless steel band clamps, and a little BFH to the drivers side muffer so it would slide onto the header(hits the floor)

Do the 9 inch vibrants quiet it down at all? Want to drop more weight and that x pipe isn't the lightest.

It seemed to be the same amount of noise when switching from duals in front of the axle to mufflers on the headers. It was louder inside the car though but that's because the exhaust is right below your feet.

Plus the flowmasters pay money if you win some of the stuff in LSX. Main reason I got them, but they sound pretty good also.

I used to have the vibrants, didn't do **** for sound to me.

if you want to quite it down, id get a case muffler, like the QTP, or a magnaflow 4x9.

Something light and cheap ($15 each) these work great. I know me and ATV racer use them, fits for class stuff. Dont make it any quieter in the car with them dumped, but cut down a little at idle, not much.

I can handle that just fine, thanks for the info. If its louder then I won't hear the gear noise as much it's a win win.

I like my Flowmaster Outlaw race bullets. Flowmaster pays NMCA contingency, that was a main factor in my decision as to what to buy.

I'm the one who posted the QTP thread quoted above. Great muffler, great people. Even with the gear and th400 I still enjoy driving the car around.

ya there legal for LSX AM, and MIR were you just need to have a muffler, and no Db limit.

If anything JL you could make thous easy for 4, 4.5, 5, check out the pics of what they really are. Its just 10-20 spots somone hammerd a shape center puch thu the tubing, then there a 1/4 bigger secton of tubing thats kinda over that area There not even fully welded, they just have 2 tacks on one end the that outer cover doesn't fall off.

If you look on YB I think a few shops make somthing like them, if you want to buy somthing. I know the high end exhust places have them too, (burrs, SDP, staimless headers, vibrant) But not this cheap.

Not to give to much away, but there dont cost much power, more accounting for the length of tubing they take up.
