please help with my 60'!!
went to the track with my new setup last night.very disappointed with my launching.i dont have it tuned with my new setup yet.maybe thats why the 60' sucks so bad.from what i understand, the mph is there for a high to mid 7 run,but all i could muster up was a pitiful 8.1.
is it because i dont have a torque arm?
is it because i dont have it tuned yet?
is it because i need a driver mod?
lunati cam,ls6 intake,slp lid,LTs, 3in exhaust,boxed lca's,ace racing tranny 4000 stall, electric cutout,and 295 MT dr's,3.42 gears,stock heads.br7ef plugs for the spray,but havent sprayed it yet.
seems like i should be faster.
WHAT THE HELL DO I NEED TO DO TO GET A BETTER 60'
im so frustrated.i thought for sure i would be into the 7s with this setup

First off, is it hooking and bogging or is it spinning? Are you stalling the car up or flashing it off idle...any answer given is a shot in the dark until we have more info....

yes im spinning of the line.running 15psi in the dr's and im trying to footbrake it as much as i can without spinning the tires.i redlighted it once.is this the correct procedure?should i be leaving at an idle?
you still need alot more info than that
is it lowered?
relocation brackets?
shocks shot, or aftermarket?
what wheel and tire size, 18s, 15s, 24" DONKs?
specific cam size
brand of stall, stall ratio, etc.
list EVERYTHING
but most important, VIDEO
no one can tell you anything without making a visual on it, still just a shot in the dark any other way. also how is the burnout, how are you launching, shift points.....

Sounds like something may be off in the suspension. Just had a customers car cut a mid 1.6x short time on a 305/45/18. Try leaving at a lower rpm and see what the car likes. It's trial and error if the suspension is right...

no relo brackets
boxed lca's and SFCs welded.
i think the shocks are aftermarket but i also think they're shot.they're awful soft

the stall is from Performance Torque Converters of Texas 4000 stall.
i had the stall built for nitrous
also im running cold plugs br7ef for the sprsay but i dont want to spray it untill i get this 60' thing figured out.
i NEED a torque arm pretty badly i think
also arent my MPH just about right to get me in the mid 7's?and im just launching terribly?
i will post video next sunday when i go back to the track.
any advice yall can throw at me,i will use.just need to know whats up with this crap before i go nuts.i went from consistant 8.2's with 2.73 gears to consistant 8.1s with the new 342s.i didnt get it tuned yet though.
i will definately try lower rpms.i think im foot braking at about 2500 before the rear wheels start spinning.my suspension isnt right cause i dont have a darn torque arm.
unhook your front swaybar, remove it all if you can even
leave off idle dont stall it up, just mash the gas
how much air in the tires? with my 295-18s i had best luch at 17-18#
the tq arm isnt that big of a deal my suspension is all stock arms with lowering springs and relo brackets, and i can dead hook no problem. if you can post some pics or videos, you still might need relocation brackets. video would help most

My 60' with stock stall was better than that.
How are your trans+motor mounts? Sounds stupid but last year after doing my stall I couldnt hook one bit. Couldnt figure out why. Found out my trans and motor mounts were ripped. Installed new ones and I was back at the track doing 11.9s stock internal.
i will try leaving at idle.can i just unhook my swaybar mounts? or unhook the end links? and my tire pressure was right at 13-14 psi.tires were pinching at the pavement.maybe too low?
