I don't know the weight difference, but it is worth at one MPH to use the lower, Formula deck lid over the Trans Am deck lid in my combo.

Sorry about that; I could've sworn it said that the stock TA spoiler was worth 21 pounds

Might be easier to just unbolt your high-rise spoiler when you go racing.
They kinda look sinister with the rounded back end and no spoiler back there too in case you've never seen one with it off.

The whole transam hatch is about 17 lbs heavier then a formula hatch, hatch for hatch.

Formula one is less drag, and you will see a mph gain from that, more then the weight helps, which is the main reason the super stock and stock nhra guys use the formula hatch.

In my opinion there is more to gain in the aerodynamics department than there is in the weight loss... I know my logic is pretty flawed (not the same car, not the same test) but my formula gets better fuel mileage on E10 than my TA ever got on non E blends. Just throwing that out there.

If the aero is that bad from a TA spoiler, I bet LT1 camaro headlights being sunk in like they are are even worse.

I think I would rather run the high spoiler because to me it just looks better.....and then you can always unbolt it for the runs when you are looking for that last hundredth.
