LS1 coil mounting

LS1 coil mounting Anyone mount there coils only using one bolt each? I was going to cut down my stock brackets to just use the upper bolts, to the coils, and the bolts to the VC between them. (don't use the lower or rear ones anyway to the VC) Just to get them a little lighter, smaller and easier to work on) And looking at my stock 2001 set and noticed the outer "frame" is not solid, like it has some interlocking fit or something. The LS2 and truck coils don't have this.
Are they still solid inside? Worried after some street driving could cause a problem with only 1 upper bolt in them hanging there. If they need 2 to support themselves? Not a exciting thread, but dont have spare coils to find this out.
