I understand wanting to make the car light as possible but a barrier gets crossed when you put half a dash into a car. Leave the dash, buy a spotweld cutter, and cut out all of those brackets in that picture.

How much weight is actually saved? Once I yanked the air bag out of mine, the dash wasn't very heavy at all

trans am dash was heavy man at least 20 or more as i have stated im no where close to done i know about cutting all the brackets and just about every thing u can do to make one light, my last ss was 2700 pounds and still had lots to loose, eventually the car will have a vfn dash but for now im stripping all i can, i have a goal alot of people around here say wont happen

im not a fan of the original pic at all, curious to see what it looks like all painted n buttoned up. But imho i wouldnt do it, i have factory "gutted" dash in my car, with the cowl removed, and a 10 pt going thru it, all factory and it all fit together well even after cutting brakcets, gutting the inside stuff out etc.. i can get pictures if you want. my dash is 95 style tho so its a little different.
