If your car is really slow, and doesn't hook, you would be OK. Won't live long in a ten second car. Tiny little pinion teeth won't live long.

It would be mid 11s 1.60' foot braking bracket racing. Not sure if I am going to swap ten bolts yet or not.

let me know how it goes sam..if you wanna spend the coin you could try a set of micronited gears from vinci high performance..dont tthink it make a ton differnce in terms of strength though with 410s

In a gutted car it'll live but not real reliable, pinion gear just doesn't have much material to do the job as mentioned. 3.73s tend to be a bit more reliable - as far as that goes in a 10 bolt at least

Mine popped last time out, had about 10 passes on the gears. Took the trans out with it. Foot braking and 1.60 sixties with a little 3500 stall on a bolt-on car running high 11's and a tad under 3400 raceweight

I just bought an entire 10 bolt with the gears already in it, its not a big deal if it breaks since I didnt pay much but if it takes out my brand new trans I will be pissed.

373's here. I've cut a low 1.7 60' with my 10 bolt and slicks a bunch of times. So far so good

I ran 4:10s in the ten bolt that came in my car for a year or two. Was bolt on and light though and was only running high 11's. The weird thing is when it broke, I was on a good run ( went 11.6x w/ a 1.56 60') and when I got to the end of the traps It got extremely loud like I had crunched it up and was waiting for it to lock up at anytime. So I drove it home and only found 2 teeth missing off the ring gear. pinion was fine amazingly, a ton of milky fine metal of coarse lol. I went with a 3:73 after that and it only lasted 5 passes and both the pinion and the ring gear were completely destroyed. Needless to say I went and ordered a 9" from Moser after that lol. Sorry for the rambling on but that was my 10 bolt experiences

The only problem I have anymore is my axles breaking. The 3.90's seem to hold up for me....and I'm a m6.

its been a long time ago but me and my friend both did it, he liked it and I hated it. I went back to a 6speed (3.23) rear and run just as good. to answer your question seems like it would run 1.7x 60' NA and mid 1.4x on spray. after the first 1.4x 60' both of our cars developed some "humming" in the rears. IMO dont do it but hey to each their own.

1.8 60' with my 4.10's in a 6 speed LT1 and dead hooking.....I think I read 3.90's use a 3.73 pinion? so that should help
