Exclamation Launch help?

I ran my 99 SS up at the strip a couple times the other week an best i could get was 8.5 in the 1/8. I ended up running 8.54 at 85MPH. i feel like theres better times to be had out of an LS1. the cars an automatic an the only mods are longtubes, exhaust an LS2 heads. im launching right at 2000. do I need to launch higher or what? I need to get my 60ft down from a 2.044. Any body got any ideas to help?

A good stall convertor, a tune, and a set of drag radials will work wonders for you.

Yea i have Mickey Thompson ET's on it. Do you think a good dyno tune could pull me down to low 8's or even 8 flat?

A good converter and 4.10's would probably put you in the 7's.
