Default Bias ply fronts

Sorry for the newb question. I'm looking to run a bias ply slick at the track but I also want to be safe and run a bias ply on the front. So while I was looking the only thing I can seem to find is 15" tires and rims. So what rims are you guys running that will clear the front brakes? I'm thinking that they must be offset enough to not interfere with the brakes but I don't know. What are you guys using?

Well after looking around I realized the front drag rims are expensive. So there probably out of the question for me. So are there any cheaper options to run a bias ply tire at the track. I know some people just run there street tires on the front and the slick on the back. How safe is this? Please share your thoughts. Thanks

Really! So it's not that bad? What about at the track at top speed? Or when your trying to slow down at the end of the track? Would you take your wife and kid in the car on the way to the track?

There's racestar 17" skinnies, and also the GTO spare rim will work. Clears the C5 brake conversion, and you can get 17X4.5 bias ply's fairly easily.

Not a good idea to run radial front and bias rear.

I currently have 15 inch Racestar wheels with a bias ET Street rear (no tubes) and a skinny radial front. Drag racing is fine, street driving is downright scary nasty squirmy.

If I do ever get skinnies I'll be getting bias ply ones so I'm matching but until then drive careful and don't take high speed corners or fast and furious lane changes

Mixing bias ply with radials is too risky for me. And I don't have the cash right now for a proper bias ply drag set up. So what about drag radials on a stick shift. Are they worth it? Or are they no better than my street radials for a stick shift?

I ran a worn out set of 275/50-15 Hoosier drag radials on my 6 speed and dead hooked....That's running the same times you are. A drag radial will be fine

thats a worse idea. if you dont have money for front wheels you dont have money to run drag radials bc they are gonna break **** with a 6 spd. radials in the font and bias ply rears are not that bad i ran like that for years. just make sure they have plenty of air in them on the street. u get used to them pretty quick

Drag radials if they hook = wheel hop and or broken drivetrain parts on a stick shift, just do it right, get bias ply and go faster without breaking as much **** or convert to an auto and run radials

I can't seem to find what 15 inch wheels will fit on the front of our cars. I'm looking at a set of jegs brand. They are 15x4 with 1 3/4 backspace. Will they work?

Get tubes to go in the back for bias ply's, they helped my car from swaying back and forth at the top of the track. When i had radials on the front and the bias ply out back it was no fun. It would sway pretty bad but that was with no tubes in the back. I was runnin pretty low air pressure also, 11-13 psi hot.

The lower the air pressure in the rear tires the more it wants to sway on my car.

Why? Been doing it for two years now. Have never had a problem as long as you use common sense.
