Default Help with Spinning!

Hey guys, so I went to the track just last Friday & ran my fastest time that night of 13.7. I was running 13.2 bone stock with a cat back before. I now have everything listed in my signature plus I just had my rear end done with Moser 4 Channel Axles along with new bearings. Stock gear and posi unit. Running a T56. My 60' was like 2.2. I am running street tires Nitto NT555 315/35/17 in the rear. I understand a DR would be a big help although what do you think may have happened? It was a lot hotter out at the track. But I figured I would be running high 12's knowing that I had at least a 30 HP increase after getting tuned. 343 HP with 347 ft/lbs at 5,500 RPM. I spin off the line for sure but I don't understand what is going on because last year I checked my sheets & was having the same 60ft time on stock *** 245's on a 16 inch rim. Any suggestions? I'm not trying to go into the motor right now because I feel like my suspension and tires should be something I need to be worrying about more. What suggestions do you guys have? I read the lower control arm relocation brackets can help but what does that really do? I thought that that was mainly for if you are lowering the car to keep the geometry in tact?

Tires would be the first thing to tackle.
The lower control arms help with tire hopping but didn't sound like you had that problem. Its going to be hard with a M6 on street tires. I had that problem, you either bog or spin a lot.
What was your mph? This tells a lot..

My slip is in my car but my MPH was either 105 or 110. I am getting into 4th gear by the end of the pass. I can rev out to 3rd red lining although my power band starts dropping after 5,500 or so.

What rpm are you shifting at? MPH seems low. Is your clutch slipping any?

Check all tune up related parts first. Something is off. Should be trapping better than 105. I trapped 104 with a slipping clutch and cats going out.

Hmm everything really seems to be in check to be honest. Car is running a perfect A/F ratio. Replaced the MAF cause it was running lean. Plugs just done about 5k ago too.

How's the track prep usually? It sound silly, but it can have a profound effect. Granted your mph should be in the 108ish range. A;so, what was your mph no your 13.2 run?

I am at work currently although I found a time slip where I ran a 13.374 at the same track when it was also colder out.

R/T - .717
60' - 2.187
330 - 5.807
1/8 - 8.759
MPH - 84.54
1000 - 11.261
1/4 Mile Time - 13.374
MPH - 106.88 MPH

As I said above in my previous post my time 13.811. I will post again for comparison
R/T - .645
60' - 2.295
330 - 6.095
1/8 - 9.108
MPH - 82.23
1000 - 11.660
1/4 Mile Time - 13.811
MPH - 105.30 MPH

M6 is hard.
Street tires are impossible.
Get ET streets or slicks.
I'd skip the drag radial thing as they'll just spin too

I also was just thinking of some ideas with my parts manager at my work who is now into Autocross but growing up he was a Drag Racer. He mentioned to me that I forgot to account my taller tire that would be effecting the gear ratio. I totally forgot about this.

Get some drag slicks on a seperate set of wheels. Screw radials. Switch them out at the track. I don't care what the gear is, if you do a good burnout and then spin them, you have suspension issues. Also, if you still have a stock shock/stock suspension, they weren't really designed for 5k rpm clutch dumps. So tires are even more important.. I would start with slicks. Then look into some good double adj. Shocks, correct springs, ta relocation so you can play with instant center. Just depends how serious you wanna get.

Don't waste time on radials with an m6, bias ply tires then work on suspension
