Cool "Project Slomaro"

I bought my 2002 Camaro Z28 M6 car back in 2011. It had 132k on it with qtp headers, flowmaster 3'' exhaust, 4.10 gear, short throw shifter (unknown), Spec Stage 2 clutch, Adjustable Hotchkis Panhard bar, Hotchkis strut tower brace, Hotchkis weld in sub frame connectors, Hotchkis lower control arms, eibach lowering springs, kyb adjustable front shocks... Like it sits with me driving and driving a straight shift at the track for the first time on street tires..with a 2.2 60'ft it ran 13.5 at 108 mph....and this was the start on a long road..

So after I got bored with the car after about three weeks into owning it..I bought some parts... NOS Wet kit with 175 pills(its a small shot lol), Umi Torque Arm Relocation Bracket, Slp Adjustable torque arm, Slp 85mm Maf, Ported throttle body, Slp 85mm Lid, Umi Double adjustable lower control arms, and finally some 305/45/18 Nitto 555R's (big mistake they hooked great but unless you are mini-tubbed I wouldn't run them..but I probably will never run them again because I hate how high the car sat in the *** end..plus with my springs I had to run 4 coil spring spacers and it still scrubbed every time I hit a bump very annoying) Hand held tuner(its better than nothing lol)..

So after I installed all that I went back to the track figured out I needed more seat time because the best time I could run was a 8.3 and consistent 8.5 at our local 1/8 mile track..I tried leaving out off the hole on the bottle it was a bad idea I swapped lanes and got really scared..(I needed a driver mod bad but this had been the 4th time I had ever been down the track in my entire life..) and later on that day I was riding around town and I locked my 10 bolt up with my 4.10 gear..

So I had the bright idea of building a *built 10 bolt* no such thing...with the ring gear bing 7.5/7.625 its a waste but I will get to that later on..So I put a Detroit locker, Richmond 3.73 gears,Rear end Girdle, Moser Axles in it..all a waste off money well we put it together it was quit no whine at all...did the 500 mile break in rode around on it and one night in Mexico doing some test hits this is what happen to my 3.73 gear

I was so mad at the situation I took the kit off and radials put a stock 10 bolt from my buddies junk yard in it and some 295/35/18 Yokohama street tires on it...then I got the itch and bought my Moser 12 bolt from tech..not ideal for a straight shift car but with the ring gear being a 8.875 its going to be good for what I am planning with the car...I would rather have a 9''/S60 but from what my buddy tells me who has had literately had thousands of these cars unless you are making 1k a 12 bolt will be fine so I decided to trust him...and no I'm not exaggerating..he has been buying and selling f-body's since 93!! He owns a junk yard and has a few very fast cars so I trust him..
So the specs on the 12 bolt I picked up are... 33 spline axles, Auburn pro limited slip, Richmond 4.56 gears, no abs/tcs, Rear end girdle...

I installed it in 2012 and it was pretty fun with the 4.56 gears it didnt slow me down like I thought it would, but you do have to know how to shift fast...

This was a run on street tires from the 2013 season I spun a little lol... So I have came a long way since I first bought the car it now has the much needed driver mod but after four long years of hard driving the spec stage 2 finally couldn't take it and that brings me to where I am at now...
I am getting ready for Spring 2014 and hopefully my little cam only build will run good.. I have acquired 325/50/15 Hoosier DOT drag radials, Billet Specialties, Mcloud twin disk clutch, Motive 3.73 gears, (Donkey Dick Cam check) T-rex V2. 242/248 .615/.615 110 lsa cam, tick master cylinder, MWC Short Torque arm... and that's about it for now when I pull the motor I'm getting rid of the A/C, abs, and a few other things..to lighten her up.. I also acquired a fast 92/92 ported by charlie when he was at vengeance going on my cam/intake build... I plan on adding afco shocks, going to a full tubular k member, a arms upper and lowers... We are going to freshen up the motor, rebuild the transmission with a 32 spline main-shaft my buddy in Cleveland will be doing the trans rebuild when I finally pull the motor..I'm debating between a 3.5 inch aluminum drive-shaft or a carbon fiber drive-shaft.I'm also adding a wolfe anti roll bar eventually.. I'm hoping my all motor build runs good when I finish it up I will be posting pictures and updates through out the months on everything..if any one is interested...

should run good but you may need a full slick to get it to hook hard with a m6

+1 for the bias ply slick. Once that radial starts to spin, it's not likely it'll just hook back up like a slick will. Some people can get them to work but it takes a lot of time and tuning.
