Default Before/After tune results?

How much does a tune really help at the track? Especially for a car like mine, mostly stock with a cat back and a lid. I'm getting it tuned because there's a Cyber Monday sale for free dyno time at Performance Autosport in Richmond, VA (where frost tunes). It ran 8.17 in the 1/8 if I remember correctly, and a 12.97 on a bad 60ft with I believe a high 8.2x in the 1/8. Only trapped 104 on the big end. I'm hoping for consistent 12.7s after the tune, which shouldn't be too hard since my better 1/8 passes were worth at least a 12.8.

Being that you have an auto with a TC you probably stand a good chance on benefiting a little bit. If youwere a 6-speed with those mods i'd say it wouldn't be much

I think the answer is really subjective- it depends on the car and what the car is doing. For example how much the car is advancing the timing, if it is currently getting KR that is causing the pcm to pull timing, if the MAF is perfectly calibrated, what the current AFR is etc.

you could do a scan and notice that you are way rich or way lean in which case you will noticably benefit from recalibrating the maf and adjusting the fueling. Maybe your car has an air restriction you don't know about, or has better air flow than other cars.

My point is, it varies from car to car, and is one of the reasons why I don't like generic mail order tunes.

So in short- it depends lol

Bolt on car (Full exhaust, converter, ect) went from 12.80's to a best of 12.40 with a tune. Car 60'd a bit better also but went from 105 to 107mph in similar air.

every mod is worth it, even if it is a small increase, all the small things add up in the end- it's how weight reduction works

Ok, I'm looking forward to going to the track next spring, I was hoping I could be at a 12.7 after the tune. My 12.9 pass I only trapped 104, and only 60'ing a 1.7 (1.85 on the 12.9 pass, best 1/8 was a 8.17 on a 1,77). Only limiting factor for now seems to be power, it's basically stock in my eyes.
