Can you be consistent/competitive with ratchet shifter?
Deciding on if should buy a pro shifter or a ratchet shifter for my TH400. It's a street/strip car, should be a mid 9 second car after I get done with the new build. I like ratchet shifters much better but want to know if there are any downfalls with them at the track? Is a pro stick any quicker at shifting gears etc.

Only experience I have had with them was a B&M ratchet on a customer car and the thing was junk. At times it would skip a gear other times it seemed like something was binding up. I replaced it for him w a B&M gated shifter. Shifts flawlessly now. I run a TCI outlaw gated shifter in my own car. I love it.

B&M Mega shifter here....you could hit with a hammer and only goes 1 gear at a time....as long as you hit your shift points right and get a consistent launch....why wouldn't it run the dial-ins ?
