No you do not need to tub the car to run a narrowed rear. What you do have to do is get the right back spacing on the wheels you are going to run to push them back out where they are suppose to be. I am running a 305 tire and quite a few people running 325's without tubs.

IMO 3 inch off each side is max before thinking about getting into the wheel well. But to answer you question like stated above. No you do not.

I just did mine this winter on my moser 9". I cut 3" per side and that is about the max. Im running weld prostars, 15x10 with 4.5 backspacing. Looks awesome. I had to clearence my wheel well though to run a 15x10. Cut the bump stops out and alittle hammering in the front of the wheel well. I think it was well worth it.

I cut 13 inches total off the rear of my car when it was narrowed. 15x12 dbl beadlock wheel, and we minitubbed it deep into the car.

Give us a call and we will be more than happy to go over all the fine details on what your options are for wheels and rearend spacing.

MWC sells/builds more rearends for the f-body cars than anyone and we have the right info for you, along with the track experience with the fastest cars in the country using all MWC rearends and suspension.

Made my own brackets, moved them inwards, built lca mounts into the cage that tie into the stock mounting point. One bolt goes thru the stock mounting points and the cage mounts, holds them in. Blessed as legal for stock suspension racing by John Sears... good enough for me.
