Also I think the carpet/insulation comes in closer to 30# than 40#, can anyone verify?
Also how about adding skinnies to the list?

I have weighed my carpet several times, on several scales... Not easy to do just from the size, but we have never got a weight under 40 lbs.
One day I'll get motivated, and carry it to a local metal shop that has a huge flat digital metal scale.

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
Great post colonel! I will do a few deductions, like less washer fliud, less fuel, rear seat and seat belts, spare tire and jack, lighter battery, but nothing looks worse than a stripped out car(recovered theft).

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
Weighed the ABS module and bracket last night. Came in at 9 lbs. Not as much weight savings as I was hoping for but opened up the the engine bay quite a bit.

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
anybody weigh their stock manifolds compared to headers?
what's the difference between stock rims and a set of pro stars, i was guessing 60 lbs TOTAL for all four. that sound right?
how much does a loudmouth weigh compared to stock? i'm just trying to get an idea for my list.

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
In the older day's they use to swiss cheese the chassis (Punch out holes of steel shims to save weight) and it would still have the strength just lighter..

Cool, thanks! Got a phone number or website?
I just added up my weight reduction plans for 2002 and they should bring my race weight down to about 2875.

Re: Weight reduction list!!!
973-401-1954 is the phone, renzf@yoyodyneti.com is the web-site. The prices are high, but you would only use this stuff on critical areas. I'm trying to find the place that had the aluminiun bolts, they were a crapload cheaper and would work fine on the majority of applications.

WHOOOoooooooooowh!!! That stuff is way expensive! Not a cost exfective way to loose weight.
We better find the aluminum stuff.
