I do not suggest using the !TT on the car all the time. I only use mine at the track. If you get pinging.. take it out.
You may want to look into a MAF translator. With it, you'll be able to "fatten" up you car when it needs it (Florida summer).

As far as your (mine) ported MAF ends, if the car is still pinging, it's probably not going to get any better. We can either put the stock ends back on the car, or I can let you use my MAF translator (it's not even on the car anymore). It only takes a few seconds to plug it in at the track. Hell, if it works out for you, I'll make you a helluva deal on it!
Too bad we couldn't get out tonight because of the rain. I'll be there (Gainesville) next Wednesday, and probably 11/28 as well, since it's the last day the track is open.
Guys, we need to convince Villain281H that his tranny will not blow chunks from installing a converter!
Derek, I think you'll be fine with a somewhat tame converter, just to ensure you don't start having lockup issues during normal driving, and shifting issues at WOT. A fairly mild converter (not in my vocabulary anymore, BTW) should be virtually trouble free.
It's up to you, though..
yeah sucks about the rain and all, it didn't even rain after 5:30 when I got home, the track just said there wasn't any heat in the track due to no sun all day. I won't be at the track next week, but I should be there for the final date on the 28th. Maybe we can try the MAF trans then, and if it doesn't solve the problem, I guess the stock ends will go back in. Oh by the way, I made a few full throttle runs last night on the way home from work, and with the temp sensor back in the air box for normal driving, it still was pinging in 2nd gear.
My continued quest for 12s, maybe next year I'll hit some with a convertor, we'll see

No maybe about it ... I was in the low 13.1xs also. 12's all night the first time with a converter. All I have is a Yank 3000 - got a great deal used - Yank refurbished it and upgraded it to 3200.
As far as drivabilty, the differences from stock are so subtle it took a day before I picked up on them.
Good Luck
