Default Hey Chris... hurry up with the bolt on rules!!

I've got enought stuff laying around to build another motor. Need to know the rules so I can figure out how to get competitive. Gotta go shopping now... let's see first on the list is sulfuric acid.

Yep, I smell a 'ringer' in the works from the ole pro NHRA Stock Eliminator driver himself, Mr. Joe K.

Damn Joe, now I have to run out and get some acid too.

Where there's a will there's a way. Are you thinking about duking it out with us lowly bolt-on guys? 4.30's, 12-bolt, aftermarket clutch, some weight reduction, and one bad-*** driver = FIERCE competition!

I've been out of town since Saturday.

It is my hope acid porting the heads will not be an attractive option. I would like to create a list of acceptable mods for the class rather than a list of disallowed items. The list will be rather short.

Raceweights will probably be rather high, like 3500# plus. The payouts will be lower in an effort to discourage cheating. This is not meant as a 'dis' to the bolt-on class. But this is intended to be a true entry level class. I hope the smaller purse plus implementation of a few of the ideas from the other thread will keep the less than honest at bay.

One more quick suggestion....you might want to break up the bolt-on class into an M6 and an A4 variety.

Get real Chris. After spending what most of us have spent what difference does $500.00 make.

Your creating a class and any stock/superstock class racer will tell you "it's exspensive" and payouts have nothing to do with it.

Now tell me what the rules are.... I want to get started my "bolt-on" engine.

Trevor I did some checking and Wisco is making superlite .010 over pistons with .043 rings... a set of titanium pins and you would have to tie one down to keep it from flying off. Maybe a two ring setup.

Since teardowns aren't looking like a viable option, this certainly will be an option that some will look at. As for me, I'm just gonna stick my sandbagging behind in brackets.

I'm not kidding.... The way this weight issue is going I figure it will be better to run the bolt own class.... that way I won't have to ride around in a striped and gutted car.

I've got a complete extra motor intake to oilpan... why not????

I need the rules!!!!!!

DAMN! My car doesn't weigh that much in street form. Weight reduction is half on the bolt on race, it takes time and only the guys that really want that extra few hundreths go through the trouble of gutting their cars on raceday. I think a good limit is 3200.

You can't see port and polish! You can't see port an polish!

Nevermind, it's an inside joke. There are a few people who read this board that will know what I'm talking about Basicly some douchebag who was trying to defend the performance he was claiming of his very, very stock looking motor in an older car.

Anyway, what is this clas? This is the first I've heard if it, sorry for my ignorance.

My .02 is this. If you make this class a true heads up, 3300 lb limit(I'm at 3180) and allow all feasible bolt on's(No power adders) you could have a big turn out. If you let us get these cars quick and fast(11.44@119.59 here) I think you will have alot of competition and a big turnout. Make it a race class, not a bracket type class and they will come. I would love to shoot it out with the fastest internally stock motor ls1's out there. I would make every race just to be able to run heads up. I believe this class has the potential to be your biggest turnout if done right. My fingers are crossed.
