Default aftermarket shifters?

Is there really that much difference in an aftermarket shifter (M6) as compared to the stock Hurst shifter in a SS? What shifter do you like?

I didn't like the stock Hurst Shifter than came with my car... I was missing shifts occasionally and just wasn't confident with it. I picked up a ripper and its much better now... haven't missed a shift yet.

You can't go wronng with either the Ripper or Pro 5. I know some people who are also very happy putting the short stick on the hurst.

I put in the Ripper and I love it!!! I went from the stock piece of sh** and it wasn't even the Hurst. It's night and day. The stock shifter would be in neutral when I shifted from 1st where as on the Ripper it would be in 2nd. The throws are so much shorter. It's hard to describe it. The feel is much more positive. You know when it's in gear. With the stock shifter it was a guessing game. I haven't missed a shift yet with the Ripper. With the stock one I once went from 6th to 1st (was trying for 3rd). After that I decided it was time for a new shifter. Best $150 I've spent on car so far.
