Weight reduction questions for racing... I know that many remove thier catback for track use. I have a heavy-*** slp dual/dual catback on my car, and that sucker has gotta weigh 50# easy. That's a huge weight savings, but wouldn't taking it off because of its location hurt traction a lot? It seems like it. Would that much weight savings be worth it even though traction would be decreased. Maybe I could put the battery in the back in order to get some weight back over the rear axle to help me hook.
Also, what do you think my approximate weight would be now...
I have a M6 T/A WS6 with no spare, jack, front sway bar, no cats, light weight pulley
and then what would my race weight with the following additional weight saving mods...
front and rear bumpers
catback removal
rear seats/seat belts
passenger seat
carpet removal
lightweight battery
center console
very little gas
any easily removed plastic interior panels
no air conditioning
draglites with skinnies and ET streets
just trying to get an idea if all of the weight savings is worth it

Re: Weight reduction questions for racing... I personally have never noticed a difference in times with my whisper muffler off the car. But your weight reduction should come in around 150lbs ....IMO
