when using Weld nuts?
I lost 2 more yesterday on the same rear wheel.I have snapped 2 on the front and 2 on the rear before this.
Anyone have better luck using a diff lug other than Welds? I use great care to make sure each one is hand started and easy to turn.TIA

I sheared all five on the driver's side one night at the track just after I launched the car. The wheel came completely off, but luckily stayed inside the fenderwell so nothing was damaged. Pretty scary... That was using 12mm studs and Weld shank lugnuts.
In my case, I think the main cause was not checking the tightness of the lug nuts often enough. I believe they had worked themselves a little loose. I make it a habit now to retorque them every 3-4 passes or so.
I'll probably switch over to 5/8" studs in the future so I can ditch the shank lugnuts all together.
