Mufflers straight off the headers?
I'm building a race only exhust setup, and I was wondering if having mufflers straight off the headers would have any affects on scavenging in the collecter. Or 4"-6" inches of pipe first would be better. The mufflers a flowmaster 1 chamber race mufflers.
TIA

i had something like that for a little bit after putting my new motor in because i had some bullets and extra piping laying around and needed something quick.
i had like 6 inches of 3" pipe then the bullet muffler, then turndowns, they ended right in front of the cross brace for my TQ arm. my buddy welded em up as a Bday present and surprised me with them lol

I just got it finished had to use about 12" of pipe, it turned out good. The surprising thing is, that it's the best sounding f-body I've ever heard. I can't believe it, and it's stupid loud but i was expecting that.
