Default Bracket raced LS combos

I've been in the bracket racing game for a while and I'm currently putting a new car together powered by my first lsx engine.

Just wanted to see who's weekly bracket racing an LS powered car and maybe a quick run down on your combo.

I race every week. Cam only 02 Camaro 4000 converter 9" Ford. 11.50 /11.80 depending on weather. Fairly consistent but going speed density this year and zeroing out a few correction tables in the tune.

I ran mine a fair amount last year. 01 h/c tight 4k nitrous converter 4.11's.

Runs 11.60's in most weather, I zero'd out my IAT table and the car is pretty consistant now. Usually any time issues show up in the 60' time.

The IAT table and switching from radials to bias ply tires made a big difference.

Yeah, car is more consistent with them. I think they are a bit easier on parts too, I tore up a input and output shaft on the radials.

I bracket race my as much as possible. You can search my few posts for my combo. Very basic car. I launch say 1400 rpm and run it in drive. This winter I switched to a Fast 90 intake and NW throttle body. Going to switch over to an SD tune also with the hopes of running 11.50's. My biggest consistency issue comes from the rear tires. Nitto 555's. I'll be switching to MT ET street radials. I run the MT on another bracket car and can rely on them even on crappy track surfaces.

Awesome! Thanks for posting guys.

It's funny that you guys have brought up tires. I've always ran a small tire (28×10) in a bias ply slick but have been looking at the new M/T bracket radials. The bias ply has always worked really well, its just that my heavy car kills the side walls pretty quick.

Do an Open Loop Speed Density tune and turn off any and all correction tables. It can be very consistent.

01 camaro here pretty much a mild cam only. Untouched 243's, 4k converter, stock 10blt w/ 3.23s. Good air 11.30's 1.58 60', heat 11.50's 1.61 60'. Super low maintenance and usually runs within 1 number.

I've been very lucky to have an experienced bracket racer tune it!
