Default input on nitto 555's?

Last year in the beginning of june i ran my car for the first time down the track an i didnt think it did that bad.. my best was a 12.1 at 114 mph and 1.7 60s but i was consistent at a 12.2 to 12.4 all day.. the car is 02 camaro m6, 228r cam, full bolt on, 12 bolt with a 411 true trac, full weight, that was dynoed at 396 before the rear end! i had 275s nitto 555Rs on the back at the time and a crappy 2.5 y pipe with cats an a slp. This weekend im going to run it again but i changed it to a full 3 inch with just the slp and the bad part is i only have normal nitto 555s on the back know! They are almost brand new an i got them off a friend or a friend for a hell of a deal! My question is do u guys think if i get them sticky would they hold my power down at the track?? Would like to get into the 11s but im not thinking it will happen tho! Thanks

They are not going to hook nearly as good as the 555R...plain and simple. What track will you be going to? Some have better prep than others here in MI lol

Street tires with Lapeer's track prep doesn't equal a good combo lol

Lol before i went there i took my nitrous tank out of the car an discounted the power to the hole system so they would let me run and i was bumbed cuz they didnt even look at my car! I pulled in payed, he put the number on the window and had me sign a waver an the only thing the guy said is if its ur first time make sure u watch a few times! I could of kept it on there and they wouldn't of even known.. well they would of if the car started runing high 10s or realy low 11s lol

I daily drive a pair of 275/60R15 555rs on my ls-swap Cutlass. They are GREAT street tires, even in the rain they work very well. But, they were horrible at the track. Can't imagine what the 555s would be like. Surprised you got a good '60 with the r's.
