Default Barometer?

I ran at the track last night and was a little dissappointed. I ran last Sept. and ran a best of 12.9 at 108. Since then I have installed Kooks longtubes. Last night I ran 12.9 at 108.5. The barometer was 29.1. A friend of mine said this is a factor. The humidity was around 60% and the temp. was in the mid 70's. It was a lot colder in Sept. for sure, but I expected better. Any thoughts? Thanks. BTW, both times I ran my 60' was 2.0.

Weather will play a big roll is how well your car performs. Just an example for you, my car was 1.5mph and 2 tenths slower in the 1/8 with a 1500' difference in the DA. You may also need a tune after your header install, car could be running a bit rich. My car felt really sluggish after the long tube install.

Yeah, I was thinking I might need a tune. But I still thought it would do better. It was 22 degrees cooler and the barometer was 30.6 when I last ran, so maybe that's it. I dunno. Will 1.5 point on the barometer have that much effect?

That's a big difference. You've picked up some good power with your mods. Just wait until the weather is right again and you'll be much happier. In the mean time, dial in your mixture and timing if it's not dialed in already.

29.1 is about as bad as it could possibly get as far as barometer goes, you will pick up about 3 / 10 and 3 mph with a barometer in the 30.00 or higher.

Thanks guys, that makes me feel a lot better. I was getting discouraged. I'll try again in the fall, but it won't be the same because my 12 bolt with 3.90's should be here next week along with my adjustable LCA's, reloc. brackets, adjustable pan hard bar, Hals, Airlift bags, Welds, and ET streets.

You can usually see about .10 difference in ET for every 10* in air temp. I check air temp, baro and humidity every time I race with Weather Channel several times. From what I`ve seen the most important is temp then baro and humidity plays the least role. Two years ago at the Vette-Viper-Fbody race in Bradenton I ran two 12.06s and three 12.05s. The temp was in mid 60s all morning very humid 90- 95%, as a cold front moved through temp droped to 52* and I ran 11.91 and picked up 1.5 MPH. Ten minutes later it started raining for hours and thats the only 11sec run I got in my silver car.
