Re: NHRA rules regarding lug studs? I think its something like the stud has to stick out of the lug nut half the distance of the studs diameter, The way I read it is if you have 1/2" studs you need 1/4" sticking out of the nut

Re: NHRA rules regarding lug studs? My understanding is that the stud must enter the Hex portion of the lugnut by at least its diameter. I did some research and thats what I read.

"Must be automotive-type wheels suitable for street use. Minimum wheel size: 13-inches (33.0 cm) (unless originally equipped with smaller wheels and vehicle is equipped with original engine). Wheel studs must be threaded into hex portion of lug nut a distance at least equal to the diameter of the stud."
