Default Installed Viking DA coilovers

I finally got around to installing my Viking coilovers. Fronts went in very smooth. Rears were a pain in the *** with the MWC mounts. There isn't enough room around the upper shock mounting area for the bracket to get in there and tighten up the bracket and then bolt the shock into it. Other than that the install wasn't bad. In order to get the ride height where I wanted it the rear springs had to be almost all the way down. It's this ok? The spring is completely free and flops around with the suspension unloaded. There is probably an inch of space between the cup and the top of the spring when it's unloaded. Is this normal. Rear springs are 175s.

Common on most coil over setups.

Afco shocks actually have a retaining ring that keeps the upper spring cup attached to the shock shaft, and then holes in the spring cup where is allows the spring to be retained to the cup with cable ties for this reason. Nothing to worry about, just be sure that the upper spring cup seats properly when you set the car back down on the ground.

Thanks for the response. That's what I was hoping to hear. Overall I'm very pleased so far with the way it rides and looks. Now just time to get some test passes at the track.

You could put some "tender" springs in it to keep a little tension on your main spring if it bothers you.

Sorry. Is that "frowned upon"? It's like pulling teeth to get help around here lately
