Holy Crap: Colonel gets some air!!!!!

1. What does he do to get it to launch so straight, is he running a spool, or a auburn type posi unit. Airbags? Shocks?
Awesome looking though, the car is, at least from this perspective perfectly straight.

He has fully adjustable Afco shocks, and I'm pretty sure he has a RR airbag.
It was AWESOME
Now bring that **** to HRP and see what it can do!!!
2. Why does a 2 step help a NA Car? He already has a brake and a big stall, so the car stalls upto the stall speed, then brake lets go and he goes, why does the 2 step help that situation out?

Converter Flash
I'm sure Stephen will explain the operation better than i. you stage, hit the brake and engage the 2 step. Go to WOT, watch the lights and let go of the button.
Consistant launch RPM, heavy duty converter flash, and you're at WOT already.
auto's are a misterious beast. I just wanna do that in a 6 speed
You are the MAN!
Yes, it was clean.
Yes, that's DNA on the back glass. LOL! The timeslip read DNA instead of 99.
I have a HD Eaton posi unit in the 12-bolt.
I have no airbag. I am using a Wolfe Racecraft swaybar instead which really keeps the car straight and level.
No center caps on the rear per NHRA rules. Gotta be able to see those aftermarket axles.
Yes, I was testing out Harlan's new two step and yes, it worked FLAWLESSLY! Thank you Harlan! Installation was a breeze. Pretty much plug and play. I had it set on 4200 RPM. It allowed me to leave the line with the throttle at WOT but with the rpms at only 4200 therefore allowing me to get the full flash out of the converter. This is about a 4600 stall behind this engine. My 60 fts have been around 1.40-1.44 lately. The 60 ft on that pass was 1.37! The two-step did it's job for sure. And there is probably still more to gain as I experiment with different RPM settings.
The ET on that pass was only 10.02. I don't know if I believe the clocks or not. The 60 ft was the best I've ever pulled and the trap speed was over 135 but yet my ET was slower....??? I honestly thought that it was a 9.8 run. The MPH was 136 on other runs.
On my last two runs when I'd shift into 2nd it was like I threw it into neutral. I think it's the linkage.
Also thanks to Harlan for hosting this pic for me.
And no, I wasn't sure if the tires were ever going to come back down!
Thanks all!

Ohh I noticed that on the BeaSSt car also, that makes sense now! So after I get my roll bar, harness, and jacket to be 11 second legal I might as well be 10 second legal also for my spray runs. Do I just need to leave my center caps off? Will I need a trans sheild and window net also, any recomendations?
Thanks

if i remember correctly....anything over a 6" wheel lift and you are wasting ET.
you have to remember it takes TIME for you to go that high up and TIME to come down....
get that suspension worked out so you can come out ON THE BRAKE and not pull stands like that and you *should* see those 9.8s
isn't going to be easy though. Maybe email George Baxter...i know he got his suspension figured out launching on the brake and only lifting the wheels about a foot with over 1000hp. maybe he can give you some ideas. He also runs a wolfe and i *think* afcos
later
Are your front runners 26"?
Thanks and awesome pics BTW.
Derek
I don't have one yet but I *THINK* a transheild is required quicker than 10.99 but that a window net isn't required until 9.99. You also need a 5-point harness, open lug nuts, and studs that extend into the hex part of the nuts 1/2 the thickness of the studs for 10s and of course a driveshaft loop.
Thanks!!!"
The ONLY place to get one is from Harlan Motorsports who is soon to be a sponsor of LS1Tech. This unit I am testing is, at present, the only one of it's kind.

I agree. I think with a track that is hooking well enough to allow me too hook without needing so much weight transfer that I'll be pulling 1.34s or so just from keeping the tires down. It'll be neat to see. Unfortunately, thus far I've not had this luxury of extra traction. If the latest suspension mods that I made work as well as I think they did then I should be able to dial the front Afcos in much stiffer on the extention which I've found really helps to keep the front end down.
Still, with the 1.37 60 ft I am baffled as to why my ET was worse than I'm used to. By that point the wheelie was over so 1.37 seconds is 1.37 seconds wheelie or not. I'll try again at my usual track (Montgomery Motorsports) in a couple of weeks.
"What size slicks are those in the back? They look like maybe 29x10.5's.
Are your front runners 26"?"
You have a good eye. That are indeed 29x10s in the back and 26sx4.5s in the front.
Thanks all.
