Default Installed a Wolfe bolt-in 6 point

Install was very easy. Fit great. Ordered with swing outs on both sides and remove-able cross bar. Also got the cups that go over the raw ends when the swing outs and cross bar is removed. Ordered the crotch strap bracket as well. I got it in the car and bolted it all together. I then tack welded the plates in place so nothing would move while I drilled the holes. The best part is, from time of order to my door was 2 weeks to the day.

I'll add pics later.

It wasn't in stock. This was from raw build, powder coat, and to my door.

gotcha. I thought about doing that also, but didn't end up doing it after I read it wasn't legal. That was 10 years ago though. So I was hoping it changed, lol. Looks good.

How much was it? I seen another fbody with it, like the removable crossbar, only way I'd put a 6 point in mine.

What is nhra's reason as to the crossbar has to be welded in. You can have removable swingouts but not that. Just wondering if anyone here knows? Those pins are pretty damn strong

I am on the fence about their C5 'vette cage or having one made locally

I have the Wolfe with swingouts in my f-body, fit beautifully and techs to 10s at a tough track. I do not have the removeable cross bar.

I highly recommend the cage.

I have the Wolfe bolt in also, nice piece. Looks good with swingouts, wish I'd have opted for them too.

I was in the same situation and went back and forth for a long time about which direction to go. Finally pulled the trigger and ordered a 6-point bolt-in bar from Wolfe with the harness. I'm so glad that I did. Fit and finish was first class and ease of installation was incredible. I did the whole job in about 8 hours alone and that was taking my time and taking breaks (did it this summer in the 100+ degree Texas heat!). For a novice I would say the end result came out great. Now I'm legal to 10.0 (assuming they accept the bolt-in upper bars from the hatch area ... which "technically" need to be welded and could be later) and all for a fraction of what a custom cage would cost. More importantly though I believe it's a quality made bar that would protect me in a rollover to side impact at the track.

I had the door bar padding made from a guy on the Class Racer forum. They were kind of pricey but they're padded and the vinyl is tough and protects the bar when I climb in and out. They have velcro down the entire pad so it's easy on and easy off if need be.

Sweet. I have the same kit. Do you have pics of those cups to cover the bar ends?
I don't remember seeing them on their website
