Default Help me with my ET!

I have a 2000 T/A with all these mods, throttle body by-pass, free ram air mod, HPP III, Whisper lid, K&N, Borla, Cut-out, and a ported mass air. My best E.T is a 13.73 @ 105 with a 2.10 60ft. I thought i would run a little better than that, i dont recall the hum. prob around 60 to 80% but it was around 80 deg so i know with a little better air it will pick a little E.T. But i think its the factory gears 2.73's will it pick up by going to a 3.42 or even a 3.73 what do you recomend? And is that the problem?

105 mph sounds about right to me considering the 80 degree temps, high humidity, and the fact that your car has 2.73s. My car originally had 2.73s and was trapping at around 105 mph with similar mods.

FWIW, swapping to 3.23s didn't help my ETs much at all.. Not even a tenth.

Skip the gears, get a good torque converter, some sticky tires, and go back to the track on a cooler day. Your ET will drop bigtime.

So 3.73's will be the best gear for my car? What size of stall and what STR? And what brand Yank or Vig etc? What kind of E.T will gain from these mods? 13.00 or even 12's

TORQUE CONVERTER!!!!! Skip the gears till you put in a Yank 3500 or Vigi 3600. Don't go any smaller cause you'll kick yourself later. There isn't that much drivability issues with those stalls. I wouldn't have anything less than a 3200 in my car.

I put a 2800 in my wifes LS1 to get her used to driving a stalled car...w/in a month she was wanting more stall....she is beggin for the Free Vig upgrade....but I hate pulling LS1 Auto's...they're a PITA....could pull my LT1 Auto in 30min....stooopid GM engineers...oh well.

I agree. Good air is definately going to help you out there. I'd put a better convertor in mine, but I keep hearing about too many people junking their AOD's within a year, and that's why I've done the bolt-on game instead. you'll get your et down, get some sticky tires!
