Default Can there be too much weight transfer?

I was looking at some stuff for the near future, some of the main ones were Hal shocks and the BMR Trak Pack. Could these two things, combined with removing the front sway bar, cause too much weight transfer on a car that launches hard? Weight transfer is what makes a car do a wheelstand, correct? And if the tires go too high, it hurts E.T. correct? Thanks for any replies. I'm just trying to grasp some launching concepts.

Theoreticaly...yes.

Im 99.9% of our applications, (street LS1 dudes) it is NOT a problem.

If your an A4, and dont have some SERIOUS mods, dont spend the money on these items. For expample I am still running the stock torque arm and springs, shock, etc, etc,. It is just not needed most times for the level of perormance most folks on here are looking for.

Not if your looking to pop 3 foot wheelies and run LOW 10's... well, then go for it.

NOTE: M6's have VASTLY different suspension needs than most A4's.

You want to get the weight back there over the tires but you dont want a "bouncing" effect. You dont want to plant the tires and raise the car up, come out of the hole and then the front come down and unload the rears inducing spin. That sucks and is self defeating.

Just plant the tires, raise up on the whole car. If the front comes up a bit ,.... so be it. But try and raise the WHOLE car. It's kind of hard to explain... you want the tires to go down, the rear of the body to come up a bit and the front of the body to come up a a bit more.

Watch one of my videos, i try and keep the car pretty level with out all the wheelies, bouncing, torqueing over and other stuff. I try and hook, and use all the momentum I can going forward.... not upward. So far it has worked for me.

P.S., Wheelies look SO FREAKING cool though...I just have been more successful in working on going forward than worrying that I'm not going upward (in the front)

Good luck.
(maybe some one can explain it better then I)
BTW, the most important suspension mod you should be looking at? TIRES!. Every other suspension bolt on-gimick is a pale excuse, a band aid fix, if you dont have the correct tire for your application. Tires, they are the secret to being wicked quick.

like said above.. unless you want a 9sec car, then carrying the wheels the 1/8th isnt to bad

but some seriously believe, keeping the front wheels on the ground put down better ET... also maybe its a little easier on the rear

but thats just my opinion.. from a A4 point of view

from what many drag racers have told me is that if you are lifting the tires more than 6" off the ground you are wasting ET

reason being that more than 6" off the ground causes the car to do what raughammer said...it squats, rises up, comes back down and THEN goes

you want your car to plant the tires and move foward at the same time

I'd say the only worthwhile suspension mods are

LCA relocation brackets, cheapest LCA's you can find, and TIRES.

Only replace the other things if they break or you are really that fast

You want as much weight transfer as it takes to keep the tires from spinning. If that means toting the tires 2 feet off the ground then fine, it's better than spinning your tires with 'em only 6" off the ground. On the other hand, more weight transfer than is needed for traction is just wasted energy.

In a perfect world you could have perfect traction while keeping the front tires completely on the ground.

I think with an A4 you should od the following: remove front swaybar, run slicks, right rear airbag, and sub frames OR cage.

I have PHR and LCAs but I noticed little difference from them in a drag racing perspective.
they helped in overall handling though.
Cheers,
Chris
