Jinx'ed night at the track !
I have no clue whats up. the fuel pump was working, though now I dont hear it. I checked all the fuses, fuel pump relay, all I can find is the wire to the fuel pump has no voltage with the key on.
The gray wire, pin "B" back by the fuel pump.
So tommorrow, I go looking for an electrical problem.
Could it be the pass key causing it not to fire?
This Sucks...
I wonder who had probs tonight at the track?
Larry, I hope it is just minor, whatver "jinxed" probs you had tonight.
See ya on the morrow....

Wazzup????
Y'all got some folks (like me) pretty worried right now. C'mon somebody.... spill the beans!

Got a late start to the track, and ran into all kinds of problems getting there. Anyways showed up, and teched. Josh,Lloyd, and Mike from MTI had come out to watch.
Pull up to the line, do a stellar burnout, start to stage...they tell me to shut it down. "something wrong with the timers" So when I finally get to go, I make the mistake of not doing another full burnout, just a goffy looking "dry hop"..anyways I stalled the converter up to about 2500, and launch...crappy 60' ends up running a 10.4@129.xx
But the guys confirmed it was shifting way early, like 1-2 at the tree. We adjust the shift points...takes probably more than 30 stinking minutes. go get back in line. Larry Sample lines up behind me with his Blue stang. So when we get to pull through, me and Larry S. line it up to race. I know I'm gonna be playing catchup...Larry is pretty good on the lights.
we burnout, stage...they shut us down. 15-20 minutes to remove a car at the end of the track.
Finally we get cranked up...burnout...stage, Lights go down...Larry jumps the hell out of me outta the hole. I'm playing catch up. At the far end of the track I'm pulling back up on him...probably not enough to take the win...I'm right at his rear...his backend goes wild...I brake, then see him slow, and I punch it to get by him. I wrestle my own ride a little, since I had also dodged to the right a little, and then realize Larrys' Car is stopped just past the traps. I come back around, and Larry had went into the wall. Front end was pretty banged up.
He hit pretty hard, but was doing okay, and got the checkout from the emt's there.
We all helped him load his car, and repeatedly offered to drive him home, but he was fine. Really hate for that. It was an awesome race up to that point.
I'm just glad Larry was okay!
I'm also jonesing to run again. with braking, and getting back into it...I tied my best et
10.4 @ only 122mph. If we had a clean run...I think we would have been nose to nose at the end of the traps, and both in the low-low 10's.
I want to express my thanks to Larry, his father, the MTI guys - Josh, Lloyd, and Mike, and the others who helped me get my Mustang back on the trailer and offered their help. A big thanks to Larry's dad for offering to bring me home or what ever else I needed. Really a great bunch of guys out there last night.
Another thank you is due the medical emergency team at HRP. They were great, although I didn't have any injuries, they were there to check me out and offer their help. Two super nice, professional people.
I'm afraid the Mustang is going to be retired. I plan to part it out. It is probably repairable as the engine is sitting in the original position and the K member doesn't appear to be damaged or bent. However, I won't take another chance with my life figuring out what is wrong with the suspension that causes this problem. My Camaro runs straight at an arrow and is much safer. And for an old fellow it runs fast enough!
Here's what the car looks like...

I was looking forward to a rematch, but I should have a much better chance against your Camaro.
That was one quick Mustang! You're gonna miss those badass launches.
