Ok this is going to be kind of long but here goes.
It started out to be a bad night. I left work and went to Johns (Raughammer) house to meet up with him to go to the track. I wanted to try and get some better times in on these new mods: Ram Air and taking off my front sway bar. When I got to johns house he was still working on his car. So I started on mine, taking off the sway bar and swapping tires and stuff.

I tried to help with john’s car, it wouldn't start. Man that
sucked, so he helped me finish my car so I could go to the track.

Ok, I get to the track and get in line to make a pass. It was humid out side so the first pass wasn't that good. A 13.15 @ 104.96

So I pulled around and was going to line up again but Wednesday bracket racing was starting. I thought “oh well I will give it a shot”. I asked some guys out there what I should put on my car; I know my car runs 12's in better weather, and the weather was starting to get good. So they told me around 13.'s. With that in mind I put 13.05 on the window. This was the first time I have ever bracket raced. I thought I would go out in the first round, but I didn't! I won! Man I was psyched, on my 13.05 dial I ran a 13.225 @ 99.33 to his losing 17.061 on a 16.50 dial in. My r/t is getting better; I had a .713 R/T.

The next round on my 13.05 dial in I went 13.064 @ 105.45 to his losing 15.28 on a 15.32 dial in. R/T was even better this time, a .555 R/T. I won again, man I couldn't believe it!

Next round I went a 13.052 @ 103.17 to his losing 14.138 on a 14.00 dial in. My R/T was .594. At this point I had made it to the semis and I was thinking “No way my first time doing this, that I would win.” Next round I went 13.07 @ 102 on my 13.05 dial in to his losing 14.309 on a 14.27 dial in. My R/T was .666.
Man I was psyched! I went back to the staging lanes and they told me to pull up in the burnout box, so I did. But I kept asking where the other guy was and they told me that he had broken. What did that mean? It meant that..... I WON!!!!!!! I WON!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO, I WON!!!!!!!!!!!! Well what to do? Get my trophy man, GET MY TROPHY! So I went back to the pits to find out where I need to go to get my trophy. It just so happens the guy I asked were to go get the trophy, was the last fella that I had raced. He asked me if I have ever done this before and I told him that this was my first time. He did not want to believe that. Man, that made me feel pretty damn good. The car? I just love this car. I was playing catch up all night from the lights. They would leave before me and I would freight train down on them. Then just get my nose out in front of theirs and let off a bit so I wouldn't break out.

I was the only ls1 in the finals, the other guy was a mustang so beating him made it just that much sweeter.

Anyways, I won and brought home a trophy for me and the other ls1's out there....and best of all, I didn't let a ford win it. hahaha <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Fluffy]" title="" src="graemlins/fluffy.gif" />

congrats man! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> most aren't lucky enough to win on their first trip to the track, and if you consistently do the same things again, you'll look to see more trophies on your mantle.
